Burnout Bikes!

Burnout Bikes!

Well, I promised I’d give a review on the latest and greatest in Paradise City, and here it is (:

Burnout Paradise has been a totally awesome game from the start. I’m an avid fan, I bought it on day one and I’ve loved every bit of it. I’ve already given a review of the game a few months back, but that was before Criterion announced the Year of Paradise, where they dedicated a year to transforming Paradise City through free updates.

They released updates Bogart and Cagney a while back, and about a week or so ago they released Davis, the most recent free update for Burnout which included bikes! And they sure haven’t disappointed. The bikes are easy to drive, fun to drive, and exciting to drive too. There are 38 new events to complete offline, 19 Burning Rides and 19 Midnight Rides, for daytime and night respectively. These are similar to Burning Routes, and go towards getting your Burnout Elite Bike License. Online, there are seventy new bike challenges you can do, which include a mixture of timed and normal challenges. They’re really fun to play and give hours more gameplay to enjoy.

Also included in the update is weather effects. These are absolutely stunning and can make Paradise City look a completely different place when it’s covered by fog and mist! The night and day cycle is customisable, so you can choose between a 24 and 48 minute cycle, or just fix the time at a certain time of day altogether.

This update is nothing short of spectacular. It’s added much more than I’d expected when I bought the game back in January, and with the new island coming soon it’s gonna be an awesome Autumn too! Criterion are by far one of the best game developers in terms of commitment and dedication to their fans.
