London Photos

// February 26th, 2009 // No Comments » // Photos, Places

I finally got round to adding a few more photos from my trip to London last August. I know they’re a little late, but some of these I took are rather nice. Hopefully I’ll be a bit more organised with future photoshoots :)

I took about 150 photos then, and although I won’t put them all up on Flickr, I’ll try and get quite a few. Hope you like them.

London Calling…

// August 28th, 2008 // No Comments » // Myself, Places

Well the Super Lamb Bananas are gone, and although I’m a bit behind in uploading photos to Flickr, I’m already looking ahead to this weekend. I’m off to London.

I’m off early tomorrow, and we’ve booked into a Novotel. We’re going to see the sights, the London Eye, and I’ve booked a tour at BBC’s Television Centre. I’m hoping to be tweeting through my iPhone for the whole trip, something I did in Newcastle too (but that was when I still had the Viewty).

You’ll be able to follow my updates here and my locations here.

See you next week!

Fog on the Tyne!

// August 12th, 2008 // No Comments » // Places

I had to use an inventively named title for this blog post! Well, I’m off to Newcastle this weekend. The last time I went to Newcastle was a few years back, when I went with my Dad to work one day. This time it’s all of us going.

We’re going to visit the Centre for Life, and also go round the shops. My sister seemed dissapointed when I told her that MetroLand (the theme park inside the Metro Centre) shut down in April. I’m hoping to take a truckload of pictures too, so I can have more things on my Flickr photostream than just Super Lamb Bananas. ( :

20 Great Places to Visit This Summer

// July 27th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // Places

I’m going to list twenty great days out in the UK this summer. I’m going to try and visit some, and if you have been to any then leave a comment with your views!

1. Alton Towers
Alton Towers is one of the UK’s most famous theme parks, and there is a great selection of rides for everyone there. Great family fun and it’s not extremely expensive.

2. National Media Museum
The National Media Museum at Bradford is a really interesting museum that also has an IMAX cinema. There’s an interactive television gallery where you can make your own television programme and more.

3. Cadbury World
Cadbury World is one of many great attractions in and around Birmingham, but if you’re a fan of chocolate then this is for you. Interesting and fun to go around and free chocolate samples too! :)

4. Legoland Windsor
Legoland Windsor is a gigantic LEGO-themed amusement park with fun rides for kids (and adults too!) and a massive Miniland of London too. Then you can visit the massive “LEGO store” which sells almost every type of LEGO set imaginable. (more…)

Super Lamb Bananas!

#7 - Ewes Water Wisely

Today I went to Liverpool, for a few reasons. I went to see the new Liverpool One, which I thought was pretty good, quite reminiscent of Portuguese shopping centres (I love the open air!).

The other reason was because I wanted to see the Super Lamb Bananas. Because it’s the ‘Capital of Culture’ year in Liverpool, there have been 120 replicas of the massive Super Lamb Banana put around the city. They’ve all been designed by a different artist or community group. I’m going to try and take photos of as many as possible, hopefully all!

Today, I managed to get pictures of 34. I’m starting to (slowly!) upload them to my Flickr photostream. I’m also plotting them on a Google map. (The green pinpoints are the ones I’ve taken, the red ones are the ones I’ve not got yet!) Unfortunately, some clever person at the CoC decided to stick one of them down in Euston Station in London. My project to get photos of all the Super Lamb Bananas has just got a little more expensive!

Urbis

Here are some of the pictures I took at URBIS in Manchester yesterday. I took quite a few pictures, as I’m planning to make a model of the building for my final piece in Art. I also went into the museum, and saw a few cool exhibits too. Let me know what you think!

The Riverdance in Blackpool

The Riverdance at Sea

I don’t know how many of you were watching the news in late January and early February, when a ship called the Riverdance ran aground off the shore of Cleveleys, near Blackpool. I went shortly after that, and got some pictures of the ship and the masses of people who turned out to see the stricken ship.

I’ve finally got round to uploading those photos to Flickr. I’ve put them all up in a set on Flickr for you to look at. Feel free to comment on them there or here.

Tenerife!

// February 24th, 2008 // 8 Comments » // Places

I’ve just got back from Tenerife, and I’ve got some pictures from my visit! I had a fab time – we stayed at the Dunas Paraiso Resort. We met some really nice people – including Georgia and her mischievous sister Morgan who are from Manchester.

We all climbed to the top of the mirador [tower] (pictured below) and even found the service elevators. Considering cheeky Morgan pressed the lift alarm buttons many times, I’m surprised we weren’t kicked out the hotel! She even threw a pool cue in the lift and sent it to the 8th floor.

Anyway, we had a great time, and met lots of new friends. The hotel was great and I hope we go there again!

Museum of Science and Industry – 6th September

Heard there was a Doctor Who exhibition on there, so I thought I’d check it out. Went down on the train with Mum, which went okay considering we had to wait 20 minutes at Salford Crescent to change so we could go to Deansgate. The Doctor Who bit was quite short and cost about £2.50 each to go in, that was the only thing you had to pay for though as the rest of the museum was free. Took a lot of pictures with our new Nikon D40X, like a dream to get a D-SLR camera. Resized a few and posted them below.
